Free Rafting for Group Leaders
River rafting is a fun, challenging and often
hilarious experience - all in the midst of the incredible outdoors. It also
offers a great opportunity for groups of all kinds to experience the unique
camaraderie that develops on a river rafting trip. In addition, a stay in the
mountains is always a restful change from the “busyness” of everyday
life.
Rolling Thunder has been the company of choice
for the thousands of guests who have visited us. Our facilities were designed
with group needs in mind. Guests can extend their rafting trip and “sleep
cheap” by staying overnight in our dormitory style bunkhouses. We have the
largest bunkhouse in the area - sleeping up to 90 people. Some groups stay one
night and others stay for a full week. For more details on the bunkhouses,

Our
guests can expect clean, comfortable, well-kept grounds and facilities.
Volleyball, horseshoes and hiking trails keep guests entertained between
rafting trips. Parking is ample and buses can easily navigate the parking
areas.
The
sheer logistics of getting large groups on the river and off in a smooth and
organized manner takes a great deal of experience and precision teamwork.
Rolling Thunder has perfected this process during our 25 years of
business.
While located in a mountain setting, we are
only minutes away from the conveniences of town - grocery stores, fast food
establishments, etc.
Our
staff is knowledgeable, friendly and overflowing with “southern
hospitality.” We are a family owned and operated company of highly skilled
outdoor professionals who look forward every day to sharing our love of these
majestic mountains and its incredible rivers with our guests. We believe that
if you haven’t seen the mountains from the middle of a river, you
haven’t seen the mountains.
We
offer several ways groups can save money on their trip to Rolling Thunder.
Groups of 10 or more people benefit from discounted rafting and lodging rates.
Groups can come during the week instead of weekends and save money. Groups can
come before Memorial Day or after Labor Day and get off season rates. Groups
can raft both rivers during the same week and get discounted
rates.
In
appreciation for the work group leaders do to organize their trips, Rolling
Thunder gives a free rafting trip photo to leaders of groups with less than 25
people. Leaders of groups with over 25 people raft for free.
Adding value to these group trips are the many
free and interesting things for your group to do in addition to rafting trips.
Within minutes of either of our rafting centers, you can enjoy:

amazing array of mountain trails
Swimming in beautiful mountain lakes
Nature walks
Picnics
Mountain biking
Bird watching
Educational and inspirational excursions
Our
Ocoee rafting center is located on the Toccoa River where our guests can also
enjoy an easy float trip in a canoe or on an inner tube. The Toccoa is one of
the area’s prettiest streams. Groups who are whitewater rafting with us on
the Ocoee often take an inner tube trip on the Toccoa as well. These Toccoa
trips are a fun and refreshing way to spend a couple of hours on the
river.
Church Groups
Many church groups have made a trip to Rolling
Thunder an annual event on their calendar. Groups of youth, seniors, couples,
singles and Sunday school classes have enjoyed the family atmosphere at Rolling
Thunder over the years. There are ample opportunities for recreation, worship
and fellowship. Rolling Thunder’s facilities provide ample space and
opportunity for group members to enjoy fellowship with others as well as spaces
for individual solitude for reflection and meditation. Rolling Thunder will be
happy to provide references from church leaders who have visited us if
requested.

An important note regarding waiver of liability
Young people under the age of 18 not
accompanied by a parent must bring a waiver of liability signed by the parent
or guardian in order to participate in a rafting trip. Our waiver of liability
