You can rent tubes and rent kayaks from our outpost located just 15 minutes from the Toccoa River put in. It's an ideal river, located in North Georgia, for those who just want to relax and enjoy the gentle flow of the water. Georgia tubing has become a very popular family activity in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Toccoa tubing is the most popular activities on this iconic stretch of river. We rent tubes out of our tubing & kayaking center in McCaysville, GA. With every tube rental, we offer shuttle service to the river put in. From there you enjoy a float right back to your car! Sounds amazing, right?

Toccoa River Kayak Rentals (1.5 miles)

Kayaking on the Toccoa River is becoming more and more popular. We have both hard kayaks and inflatable kayaks that we call “funyaks.” Both will get you down the river a bit quicker. Our Toccoa River kayak rentals come with shuttle service as well. You are taken down to the river put in and you’ll paddle back to your vehicle. Super convenient!

We only allow the six-mile trip with our kayaks. The tube would simply take too long! If you’re wanting to have a full half-day experience on the Toccoa River, this six-mile rental would be a perfect adventure.

Toccoa River Details
Shuttle Info: Our guests do not have to wait for a ride back to your car! We will shuttle you up to the put-in on the river and you will float back to our center where you parked.
Under natural conditions with no water release, the 1.5 mile float trip can take up to one hour; after water is released it may take only 20 minutes. Water release is controlled by TVA and subject to change without notice. TVA does not make reliable water release times available to us ahead of time so we are unable to be more specific regarding how long it will take you to get down the river. People paddling in funyaks (inflatable kayaks) and hard kayaks usually get down the river faster than those people floating on inner tubes. It all depends on how hard you paddle.
Who Can Go
Ages 5 & up. Sorry, no exceptions to that rule. The depth of the water changes from place to place in the river and there may be small rapids and rocks along the way. This trip is suitable for most people who can swim (unless there is swift water) but there is risk associated with all water related activities and you will be required to sign a waiver of liability prior to beginning your river trip. There are no safety personnel on the river so you are responsible for your own safety. Please be careful and keep your life jacket securely fastened at all times.

Dam Controlled River
The Toccoa River is a dam-controlled river and TVA releases water at various times. This can result in the river becoming swifter and deeper without warning. CAUTION! GPS devices are very unreliable once you are in the mountains. Please do not depend on them to get you to our Centers. Our driving directions will be your best bet!
Toccoa Tubing Center Location: Tooberoo, our tubing/kayaking center is located in McCaysville, Ga where we also run our Ocoee River whitewater trips. It is easy to get to – about 20 minutes from Blue Ridge, GA. We will shuttle you up to the put-in on the river and you will float back to our center where you parked your car. You will not have to wait for a ride back to your car.
